Eligibility
The Housing Authority of the County of Alameda (HACA) will accept Section 8 Project Based Voucher waiting list applications for 3 and 4-Bedroom apartments in Emeryville and Union City from April 2, 2024 at 8:00 am, until April 5, 2024 at 11:59 pm PT
Please note: "This waiting list is for 3- and 4-bedroom units in Emeryville and Union City for families with very low-income (VLI) and extremely low-income (ELI)."
To apply while the waitlist is open, complete the online application that will be available on the HACA website
The maximum income limits for each household size are as follows:
- 1 Person $31,050 | 5 Persons $47,900
- 2 Persons $35,500 | 6 Persons $51,450
- 3 Persons $39,950 | 7 Person $55,000
- 4 Persons $44,350 | 8 Persons $58,550
This waiting list has the following preferences:
- Homeless
- has a primary nighttime residence that is a place not meant for human habitation; or is living in a shelter designed to provide temporary living arrangements like emergency shelters, transitional housing, hotels paid for by an organization or assistance program; or is exiting an institution where they have resided for 90 days or less and who resided in an emergency shelter or place not meant for human habitation immediately before entering that institution

1,500 selected applicants will be placed on the PBV 3-bedroom (VLI) waiting list by random lottery, by order of preferences
1,500 selected applicants will be placed on the PBV 3-bedroom (ELI) waiting list by random lottery, by order of preferences
500 selected applicants will be placed on the PBV 4-bedroom (VLI) waiting list by random lottery, by order of preferences
500 selected applicants will be placed on the PBV 4-bedroom (ELI) waiting list by random lottery, by order of preferences
