This waiting list is for Mainstream Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher rental housing assistance in Rockland County, New York

The Rockland County Department of Social Services (RCDSS) will accept Mainstream Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from May 13, 2024 at 8:00 am, until May 24, 2024 at 5:00 pm ET. This is the first time the waiting list has been open since it closed in July, 2021

Please note: According to the DSS, "To be eligible for this application, a person must be:

• Under 62 years of age
• Disabled, and
• Homeless, at risk of homelessness or transitioning out of segregated care"

To apply while the waitlist is open, complete the online application that is available on the RCDSS website

Preferences have not yet been confirmed

300 applicants will be placed on the waiting list by random lottery
